Tony Christiansen
Friend of Tauranga RDA
Tony Christiansen wholeheartedly supports Tauranga RDA and has recently become a Friend of Tauranga RDA.
His partner Jiun is a keen volunteer and helps with riding therapy sessions each week.
Tony is a world-leading motivational and inspirational speaker. He is humourous, bold and straight talking. His belief is: "Your attitude determines your altitude in life".
Tony has no legs, a result of a horrific train accident when he was 9 years old yet has achieved remarkable feats in his life.
Now in constant demand as a keynote speaker to corporations and conferences, he has spoken in various countries around the world, leaving his audiences with an insight of what can be achieved with determination, belief and a burning desire to succeed and accept the challenges in life.

The Rotary Club of Mt Maunganui
We were absolutely delighted when The Rotary Club of Mt Maunganui offered to purchase a horse for us. We found a wonderful pony called “Scooby” and after a few weeks trial decided he would make an excellent therapy pony and thanks to the generosity of the Rotary Club of Mt Maunganui we were able to purchase him.
We were also thrilled when they also offered to sponsor him. Scooby who will now be called “Mt Rotary Scooby”
RDA Tauranga thank The Rotary Club of Mt Maunganui for their generous support – it will make a great difference to a lot of people who are challenged by disability.

Tauranga Police CIB Auction
Tauranga Police CIB charity auction October 2009.
The luncheon and auction raised $75,000 for Tauranga RDA Arena Charitable Trust to build new Indoor Arena.

Pub Charity
We are extremely grateful for the recent support received from Pub Charity.
They have granted us $20,000 to go towards the costs associated with providing equestrian therapy sessions. These funds will be applied to operational and salary costs.
Pub Charity have been a consistent supporter of RDA Tauranga and their support has made a great difference to the level of programming we are able to offer those who need it within our community.

Southern Trust
Southern Trust have again this year agreed to provide a grant to go towards the costs of the salaries of our coaches, Jessie Vale and Sharon Aldersley.
Their grant of $10,000 is a major factor in our capacity to deliver equestrian therapy sessions and to meet the growing needs within our community.

Barbara Jones
Barbara Jones is one of our stalwart volunteers. She not only comes every Thursday with her two beautiful dogs to help with the rides but she also regularly runs Sale Stalls for RDA at various Community weekend sale sites earning for us significant income over each year.
